Advent Blog - December 6th

Yesterday I wrote about one of the three Christmas ornaments my grandfather gave me for my first Christmas tree. The first ornament had been one from the set my grandparents had when they were first married. My dad told me he remembered it hanging on the tree when he was little (see yesterday's post). These are the other two ornaments my grandpa gave me:

He told me that they belonged to his mother, my great grandmother, and that they were the ornaments he remembered hanging on the Christmas tree when he was a child. They aren't much to look at, but I love them. They're basically old, scratched pieces of tin, but I wouldn't trade them for anything!!

That is so cool - tho only ones I remember from my childhood are the Styrofoam balls covered with silky thread, they never lasted all six kids - how sweet to have some ornaments to cherish.
